Painting  -  Summer  2023

So sorry that it has been a long time since my last update, but life and weather gets in the way of choo choo.  Once the weather was better for painting, I had the boys in the shop start the disassembly of the locomotive and tender.  Then the prep began with masking and priming all items with black spray primer.  With the primer dry, I directed the boys to shoot the paint to it.  With at least four different colors, it takes a long time to shoot, dry and remask for the next color.
With the paint still drying, I directed the boys in the erection shop to start the wiring process for both the engine and tender.  With the masking coming off, assembly was started and proper lubrication was given to the chassis and wheel sets.  I could tell the boys in the shop were getting excited as the project started to come together and all the hard work started to pay off.  When the last bit of tape was removed, and the engine rolled out of the shop, and it was all smiles from the boys!  I think they are just excited to get the engine out of the shop, and move on to something else....
Well stay tuned for the next update, as the engine makes it's maiden voyage on the Colorado and Western Railroad!  Until then, keep it on the track and going in the right direction.  Thanks, Barry  -  Chief of everything BLW, since 1987
