Union Pacific  Big Boy  4018

Tender Built - Nov 23rd, 2020

The boys have finished up the Big Boy tender build and pushed it out the shop, in the wee hours of the night. I know it has taken longer than I wanted,
but I am pleased how it came out. It rolls very well due to the roller bearing trucks. The water hatches work, and the extended coal boards will hold
the coal load when the engine is fired up. The tender is about 24 inches long, and 8.5 inches high. It is going to be tight on the CWRR, but that is
nothing new to the track crew, who has to widen the right of way many times when larger equipment has been delivered to the railroad. I have not
come up with a drawbar connection to the engine yet, but will cross that bridge when I mate the two together.
