August - Alamosa Wiring

With the Alamosa storage area tracks in, it was time for wiring.  Oh joy!

This includes a lift out area to be connected, many Tortoise switch machines, and

though DCC, a couple ‘blocks’ to be able to isolate trains due to sound decoder flaws.

Alamosa is one huge “reverse loop” and a swing bridge, which I created a custom circuit with relays

to handle reversing polarity, killing track power and defaulting a switch when the bridge opens.

Tradition Note:  the Yellow Mogul has been my “first engine” over many new tracks, past layout and current.

It tested and completed the reverse loop using the new relay circuit at 2am, on 8/25/07.
