Barry Bogs'  Standard Gauge

R P O  /  Railway Post Office

Work on the car interior has started.  Little to no pictures were found for the interior of this car, so photos from similar RPO cars were used to fabricate the interiors.  The Postal section is isolated from the Baggage section by a solid wall (no door).  Barry created the mail slots or 'pigeon holes', mail bag racks and other details, along with the mail 'hook' on the side of the car.

Guys,  after pushing the boys the last couple of days, I am happy to say, they pushed both RPO's out the erection bay and into the paint shop. There was some questions as to what to put in the car, but after a little head scratching and some research, I came up with some items that I think the crew will need. It has pigeon holes for letters, mail bag holders, stoves for heat, a desk and some storage chests in the baggage area.  After the interior items were established, I had the boys put the roof on the cars. This was the most difficult part of the whole build. All of the doors work on the car and when finished, it will have lighting as well. All the comforts of home! I will update you again after the paint shop boys do their magic. Thanks so much for your time and interest in BLW projects.   - - Barry
