Construction starts on two K-28 engines

Barry has started work on two new K-28 locomotives. These are scratch built engines.

Starting with an LGB 3-axle motor block, up to the superstructure, details and paint.

One of these will be painted as 473 in Bumblebee, the other as 479 with snow-plow.

Did you notice in the first photo, Barry’s K-36 #489 on the Lobato Trestle on his layout?

It’s the front cover of the June 2006 issue of FineScale Railroader, and the layout was the feature.
