The original Marek Mountain Railroad

The early days! . The first permanent indoor Gn3 layout was in the living room of a rented, upstairs duplex. It was started in September of 1991, and removed in January 1996. These photos are of the initial start of the layout and benchwork. Before the backdrop, the initial scenery and many hours of running trains.

The TRACK PLAN is also here. Designed for switching, it included a 3-track for hidden storage under the mountains, a mainline loop, the town area of Los Pinos, the branch line up to Loma Alta, and the switch-back to get there.
