2021 TULSA UNION CONVENTION
Click the ‘crossbucks’ icon to open a page with pictures and details about the layout.
The
2021
Tulsa
Union
Convention
will
feature
a
number
of
home
layouts
that
will
be
open
for
touring.
Many
of
these
layouts
will
also
be
open
for
“operating sessions”. See the Timetable page for details.
While
layouts
open
for
touring
will
be
open
to
all
registered
convention
attendees,
operating
session
slots
will
be
assigned
based
on
the
date
of
registration.
Those
wanting
to
participate
in
an
operating
session
may
indicate their layout preference during the registration process.
Tulsa
area
model
railroaders
have
become
known
for
being
a
hotbed
of
operating
model
railroads.
The
Tulsa
model
railroad
community
host
weekend
long
round
robin
operating
sessions
annually.
So,
the
2021
Tulsa
Union
Convention
wants
to
provide
an
opportunity
for
serious
operators to run on these great layouts.
At
the
same
time,
this
will
also
be
an
opportunity
for
those
wanting
to
operate
for
the
first
time.
As
we
contact
folks
to
discuss
the
assignment
of
operating
session
slots,
be
prepared
to
let
us
know
your
experience
level
so that we may best match your experience to a particular layout.
The Operating Sessions slots will be assigned on a
first come, first served basis
using your date of registration.
Assignment of slots will begin approximately mid-August 2021.
To attend one or more of the Operating Sessions…
- Review the various layouts (on the right) and their details
…most or all layouts will be hosting sessions
- Make a list of up to four (4) layouts by railroad name,
in the order you would like to operate on ( 3+1 alternate )
…you can select fewer if you want to operate less times
- Review your travel plans and review the Operating Session times
as listed on the TimeTable page
- Make a list of the times you will be in Tulsa and able to
committ to attending a 3 hour session, plus drive time
Summary, you will need both… a list of up to 4 railroad names
and also several time slot options, when you go to register.
Note: selection during registration does not guarantee you the railroads
or times, it simply puts your name on the list of those wanting to attend an
Operating Session. The more options you pick, more chances you may get.
Sessions will last 3 hours on average, plus drive time each way.
